I "WISH" someone would give me a break on my insurance
What kind of add ons do ya'all have on your scooters insurance? like: un-insured/under-insured motorist?
or property damage coverage portion of un-insured under-insured motorist coverage? and Personal injury Protection coverage? I'm paying for the basic liability coverage..and it's $110.00 a year is there any cheaper national coverage for scooters that would include at least some of the above coverage for the 100 plus dollars?
We (in my part of Texas) are required to have insurance on the scooters that we ride on the road..they have to be insured, inspected, and licensed with a yearly fee. They don't want to cut us a break on any fees do they?
Of course none of the insurance companies want to look at your driving record to see if you are accident prone..they all want to charge a flat rate to everyone. But seriously, If I run into another vehicle ..my scooter isn't going to be the blunt object that hits the other vehicle....noooooooooo...that object will be me..and I can put a pretty big ding in a door or fender..( so I hope they don't pull out in front of me ).. I have riden my mountain bike on the road for many many years..I have almost been run over more than a few times and the amount of cars that pull out or turn directly in front of me when I am going at a pretty good clip ( fast) is amazingly higher than you would think..I have a pretty quick reaction time ( and very good breaks). I have noticed that while I'm on my scooter they (other motorists) tend to treat me as another vehicle. I'm not complaining about that. But I am still going to put the same size dent in the other vehicle that pulls out in front of ME and my bicycle.

I'm glad the State/insurance companies are not jumping on the bandwagon and requiring all the bicycles to be insured/inspected/licensed so we can ride to the store or to just ride your bicycles on the main roads in town... even though that is alot more dangerous than riding on my scooter.
so ...Is there a cheaper insurance? just courious... thanks.
